The VEO BT-11 is a Bluetooth remote control that can pair with any IOS or Android smartphone to trigger the shutter for a photo, or start/end video recording, without the need to touch the camera and introduce shake.
It's also allows you to stand in front of the smartphone and take your shot, or start recording at your convenience. No more relying on the camera timer, before running round to get into shot and pretending to look happy and relaxed.
Alternatively, you can use your monopod (or monopod leg from a suitable VEO 3 series tripod) to make it a selfie stick.
The battery case is also secured by a screw to make it childproof, preventing children accessing and swallowing the battery by mistake with potentially lethal results.
